If you haven’t been to the Boston Seaport recently, you’re missing out. Once a no-man’s land of parking lots and warehouses, the neighbourhood is now one of the hottest spots in town. Between innovative hotels in Boston (hello, YOTEL Boston) and popular eateries (hello, By Chloe), there is something new in the Seaport every day.
And now, the Seaport’s home to the coolest art exhibit in all Boston (we stand by this - it’s COOL). Air, Sea, Land is a series of seven colourful sculptures by Spanish artist Okuda San Miguel, his first works displayed in the city.
The bright, pop surrealist pieces, commissioned by WS Development, explore the tales of life and co-existence, and each piece focuses on both domestic and wild animals. “I aim to create vibrant places that are filled with colour and positivity, helping and hoping to change the lives of people,” Okuda said. “I want people to stop looking at the pavement and start looking up and around.”
To celebrate this beautiful addition to the Seaport, we’ve crafted a limited time Okuda cocktail at Sky Lounge, as Instagrammable as it is tasty. Focusing on ingredients sourced from the artist’s home country of Spain, the Okuda features N Gin from Valencia, Torres Magdal Orange, pineapple juice, lime juice and cinnamon syrup.
So have a drink, enjoy some art and get to know the up and coming neighbourhood that is the Boston Seaport.
