WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 1, 2021) – YOTEL Washington DC debuts today, February 1, 2021, as the brand’s first-ever acquisition and complete property transition. Steps away from Capitol Hill, the hotel features a brand new, modern look while incorporating YOTEL’s signature technology and adaptable design as part of a multi-million-dollar full property reconstruction and remodel. As one of the only hotels in the DC area to see through construction during COVID- 19, YOTEL Washington DC brings an already-elevated level of high-tech and low-touch guest experiences found at all YOTEL hotels worldwide, in addition to YOTEL’s newest, elevated health and safety program, #SmartStay.
Guests arrive under a ceiling of technicolor LED lights, serving as a focal point of the signature YOTEL Mission Control arrival area. Maximizing functionality, the public space was designed with efficiency while prioritizing a seamless guest experience and features standard brand elements such as self-check-in stations and a multi-functional Komyuniti space, ideal for working remote or catching up with friends.
Creating a new category and more efficient use of space, YOTEL Washington DC room count increased from 343 standard rooms to 377 YOTEL signature cabins with 136 Premium King cabins and 241 First Class cabins. All cabins benefited from the brand’s signature smart in-room cabin design and clever use of space, including wireless charging pads, mood lighting system, mobile casting, and SmartBed technology, for the most modern, tech-forward guest experience.
“A year-long construction project completed during the height of the pandemic, all YOTEL Washington DC public spaces and guestrooms were redesigned and completely overhauled from the previous Liaison Washington Capitol Hill,” said Shawn Jervis, General Manager. “YOTEL is at the forefront of innovation, hospitality, and design and the flexibility offered throughout all public spaces and new, tech-forward, modern cabins will ease the traveler experience in today’s current climate and beyond.”
Some of the largest meetings offerings within the YOTEL portfolio, YOTEL Washington DC offers over 20,000 sq. ft of highly customizable meeting and event spaces including the addition of a new boardroom. Groups can choose from the 4,400 sq. ft. Grand Hub ballroom to several contemporary meeting rooms, where all spaces benefited from technology enhancements to provide an even more connected offering.
The regionally influenced Art and Soul restaurant has also undergone a transformation, from a new, fresh take on menu favorites to the look-and-feel of the interior design, including three private dining spaces for special events. The award-winning restaurant offers guests and local diners an exciting range of food and beverage options and reflects a nod to the Chesapeake Bay watershed states. Come summer 2021, the landmark 250-person rooftop bar and pool will also debut as a fully redesigned and repurposed Deck 11, standing as one of the largest rooftops in the District.
New #SmartStay protocols have been implemented prior to opening to ensure safety measures and resources are available to everyone at the hotel. These measures include increased cleaning frequency, enhanced food safety protocols, hand sanitizer stations and audio-visual social distancing reminders.
YOTEL Washington D.C. will offer guests convenient access to both Capitol Hill and Union Station transit hubs offering guests the opportunity to enjoy the neighborhood like a local. Guests can book stays on YOTEL.com.
